This brooch is inspired by Strawflowers or everlasting Xerochrysum Bracteatum. I made a series of pieces using images from these amazing flowers and I am now growing some in my garden! The silver is photo etched and then engraved and very thin cloisonné wires outline the different colours. The engraving helps to pick up the light and creates a lovely texture under the enamel. The size of this brooch is 5.5cm and it is hallmarked with the London hallmark. A double pin ensures that it is secure and will not move on the fabric.
